My time is for sale, cheap! I got skillz, Yo! Umm…authentic gangsta’ is probably not one of them

I started thinking about how we raised money for our youth group mission trips when I was growing up.  I remember auctioning ourselves off as servants for the day, and decided I would try something similar.

As you all know, I’m very, very busy and my time is valuable to me.  So these are rock-bottom, bargain-basement prices.  I’m selling my time at the rate of $100 per work day (8 hours).  You can purchase my time in 2 hours blocks.  $25 for 2 hours, $50 for 4 hours, $100 for 8 hours.  During the time you have purchased I will work in whatever capacity you choose, as long as it’s legal, ethical, and doesn’t require blood loss or tattoos.

Here are some ideas:

$50 for 4 hours of chauffeuring you and up to 5 friends in my Suburban for a girls night out.  (Plus gasoline)  You know you can’t find a limo or even a taxi at those rates.

$100 for 8 hours to set up your personal website or blog site.  You pay for hosting with the company of your choice.  I’ll provide recommendations, if you want.

Any number of hours you choose for various household tasks: cooking, cleaning, laundry, dog washing, home organization, painting walls (not pictures…well, you can pay me to paint pictures if you want).  I’ll warn you that I’m not exactly a professional at any of these (except maybe the laundry), but I have YEARS of experience.

$25 for each 2 hours of babysitting by a fun and energetic mom of five.

$25 for 2 hours of dance lessons.  If you’ve ever seen me try to do Zumba, you know this one’s just here for the comic effect.

$50 for 4 hours of counseling.  I’m FULL of advice and opinions.  (Didn’t say it would be good advice.)

$100 for 8 hours of writing and/or editing.  (This is one I thought I could actually do, but then seeing my edit above, judge for yourself)

$25 for 2 hours of a cheerful and encouraging exercise partner.

$50 for a 4 hour motivational speaking session.  Yes, I’m the speaker.  Not really expecting any takers on this one.

$100 for 8 hours of packing and moving.

$25 for 2 hours to take you to pick up anything that will fit in my suburban (as long as it doesn’t stink).  (Plus gasoline).

You get the idea, right??

Here are the terms.  Payment MUST be received by 4:59 PM central time, THIS Saturday, May 26th.  I can accept cash, checks, credit cards, and PayPal.  All work will be performed in the month of June, according to our mutual schedules.  Work can be scheduled for a later date, at your choice.  My promise is that I will not push it out beyond June 30th, unless you request it.
